Buckeyes are an wonderful Ohio traditional treat that our family always makes for Christmas. It's a great sweet to make with friends around the kitchen table and makes great gifts.
Ingredients

1 1/2 c peanut butter
1/2 c butter
1 t vanilla
4 c 10X
Coating
6 oz semi sweet chocolate chips
2 T shortening
OR
Dipping Chocolate
Cream the peanut butter, butter and vanilla in a large bowl. Slowly add the 10x. Roll into small balls and place on tray covered with wax paper. Set tray inside freezer while making the chocolate.
For the chocolate, you can either use the chips and shortening or a dipping chocolate. Place in small microwave safe bowl. Microwave in 30 second times, stirring each time, until melted.
Remove balls from freezer and dip each, leaving a little of the peanutbutter exposed on top. Place back onto wax paper and let set.
